A £20,000 reward is now available to aid in the investigation of a man’s murder in north London in March.
Authorities have announced a £20,000 reward for any information leading to the apprehension of the individuals responsible for the fatal shooting of Mahad Abdi Mohamed, 27, who tragically lost his life due to a gunshot wound in Waverley Road, Tottenham, on March 20, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The Metropolitan Police, through the Crimestoppers charity, has offered this substantial sum, suspecting that Mr. Abdi Mohamed may have been mistakenly targeted by the assailants.
Amal Abdi Mohamed, the younger sister of the victim, described him as a devoted father and revealed that he was planning to marry in the upcoming summer.
Investigators believe that the perpetrators, who disembarked from a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander that was later found burned, were involved in a deliberate and targeted attack. Additionally, officers suspect that a stolen blue Jaguar was utilized to transport the suspects to and from the Mitsubishi.
A close friend of Mr. Mohamed, aged 26, was also injured with a gunshot wound to his leg. DCI Rebecca Woodsford, the lead investigator, emphasized the profound impact of Mahad’s loss on his family and urged anyone with information to come forward, stating that it could be crucial in apprehending the culprits.
In March and April, police arrested four adult males on suspicion of murder, all of whom were subsequently released on bail. Authorities believe that the motive behind Mahad’s killing was a premeditated and targeted assault on someone else.
Mr. Abdi Mohamed, known for his work at Waterloo Station and as a part-time security worker at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Royal Ascot, was remembered by his sister as a beacon of positivity and kindness, capable of brightening any room effortlessly.
During a visit to the crime scene, many of Mr. Mohamed’s family members were visibly emotional, highlighting the impact of his death. Amal expressed the heartbreak of Mr. Abdi Mohamed’s young son, who idolized his father like a hero.
