“Urgent: Update Chrome Now to Fix Critical Security Flaw”

Published:

Google has issued a critical alert for Chrome users urging them to update their browser immediately. The latest version contains fixes for 4 bugs, one of which has been classified as a zero-day vulnerability being actively exploited by hackers. Google’s Threat Analysis Group reported the issue earlier this month, but details about the exploit and its impact remain undisclosed.

To ensure protection, users must verify their Chrome version by accessing the browser menu and selecting “About Chrome.” The recommended versions for Windows/Mac and Linux are 140.0.7339.185/.186 and 140.0.7339.185, respectively. If running an older version, users are advised to restart their browsers promptly. Google assures that the updated version will be rolled out to all users in the coming days/weeks.

By promptly updating Chrome to the latest version, users can safeguard their browsing experience and protect against potential security threats.
