A popular streaming app that previously provided free access to a variety of content has officially shut down. This closure affects users of Fire TV Sticks and other streaming devices. The app in question, Amazon’s Freevee platform, has been a go-to choice for those seeking content without monthly subscription fees. Starting September 1, the extensive content library of Freevee has transitioned to Prime Video. Users must now switch to the Prime Video app and log in with their Amazon account to continue accessing their favorite Freevee TV shows, movies, and Live TV for free. Although no additional charges apply, users may encounter boxsets and movies that require a Prime subscription or one-time payment. This shift may entice Freevee users to consider subscribing to Prime Video or renting movies. Existing Prime Video account holders will benefit from a consolidated browsing experience for all Amazon content within a single app.
