“Allied Pharmacies Rescues 60 Jhoots Pharmacies from Collapse”

Published:

A notable chain of pharmacies on the high street has successfully rescued 60 branches of a competing firm from financial collapse. Allied Pharmacies has taken over the management of 60 Jhoots Pharmacies locations, the majority of which are currently closed. However, Allied has assured that it is dedicated to restoring crucial pharmacy services at these branches.

This acquisition expands Allied’s presence to approximately 210 branches throughout England and Wales, as reported by C+D. The company emphasized its acknowledgment of the vital role community pharmacies play in promoting public health and well-being. It expressed its commitment to promptly resuming pharmaceutical services at the newly acquired sites.

Concerns were raised by MPs last month about the closure of some Jhoots pharmacies, warning of the potential consequences of leaving communities without healthcare access. Allegations of financial difficulties and unpaid staff wages were also brought to light.

The ownership of Jhoots Pharmacies is divided between siblings Manjit and Sarbjit Jhooty. While Manjit Jhooty’s companies, Pasab and Jhoots Healthcare, manage over 20 branches, Sarbjit Jhooty reportedly owns the remaining 129.

Manjit Jhooty’s spokesperson affirmed that all pharmacies under his operation are financially stable and continue to provide essential services to local communities. Sarbjit Jhooty acknowledged workforce challenges and assured that efforts are underway to address these issues. The Mirror has reached out to Jhoots for comments on the situation.
