“Jet2 Flight Diverted for Medical Emergency”

Published:

A Jet2 flight carrying British vacationers was granted priority landing following a medical emergency onboard. The incident occurred during the flight from London Stansted airport to Tenerife South. Spanish air traffic controllers were informed by the Airbus A321’s crew that they needed priority due to a passenger experiencing severe medical issues. The controllers redirected the flight’s arrival route to the east of the island, coordinating with ground medical assistance at the airport for the passenger’s well-being.

No specific details regarding the passenger’s age, nationality, or the exact nature of the medical emergency were disclosed. This incident unfolded just a week after reports emerged of an elderly British woman being wheeled onto an easyJet flight from Malaga to Gatwick, allegedly already deceased. The flight was delayed for 12 hours as the situation was addressed. Despite claims from some passengers that the woman was deceased when boarded, easyJet maintained that she had a fit-to-fly certificate and was alive upon boarding.

A spokesperson for the Civil Guard in Malaga confirmed that emergency responders were called to the aircraft at Malaga Airport after the elderly British woman suffered a cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on the plane, which was scheduled to depart for London shortly after 11 am on December 18.
