An eyewitness mentioned that the water temperature is cold at this time of year and the river can be hazardous due to rocks on the riverbed. Lancashire Police issued a statement stating that they were alerted to Ribchester Road, Dinckley, at 12:58 pm on December 21st regarding worries about a man who was last seen swimming in the River Ribble.
