Donald Trump has once again criticized Sadiq Khan, labeling him as a “terrible, vicious, disgusting mayor.” The US President specifically targeted London’s first Muslim mayor and lambasted “weak” European leaders, alleging that they were causing harm to their nations.
During a 45-minute interview with Politico, Trump expressed his concerns about immigrants arriving in Europe from various parts of the world. He claimed that European leaders were overly focused on political correctness and criticized the state of cities like Paris and London, particularly Mayor Khan’s governance.
Trump went on to describe Khan as an “incompetent” mayor, emphasizing his belief that Khan had done a poor job in managing London. He further suggested that Khan’s election was influenced by the influx of migrants into the city, expressing dismay at the changes he sees happening in London and Paris.
In response to Trump’s latest attack on Khan, Downing Street refrained from directly defending the London Mayor, citing the Prime Minister’s commitment to fostering positive relationships with both the US President and the Mayor of London.
This recent exchange between Trump and Khan adds to their long-standing feud, with Trump previously referring to Khan as “nasty” and Khan accusing Trump of being racist, sexist, and Islamophobic. The ongoing tension between the two figures has been a subject of public scrutiny for years.
