Having recently ridden at Nottingham, Tommie Jakes was scheduled to ride for trainer Ismail Mohammed at Chelmsford. Known as a rising star in the jockey community, Jakes had amassed 59 wins from 519 appearances since 2023. His first win as an apprentice came aboard Suzi’s Connoisseur at Lingfield under trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam.
With a racing heritage, Jakes ventured into the sport following his father’s footsteps and demonstrated his talent early on, winning races including Fouroneohfever at Catterick. His skills garnered praise from trainers for his horsemanship and dedication.
