“EE Boosts Scam Guard Service Against UK Scams”

Published:

EE has unveiled an enhanced version of its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing number of scams affecting individuals in the UK. The upgrade, available to all EE pay-monthly mobile customers for a monthly fee of £2, is designed to provide improved protection against cyber threats.

Since its initial launch in 2024, EE’s Scam Guard has successfully thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts. With the latest upgrade, EE anticipates doubling the number of prevented scams in the next year.

The core of the new Scam Guard is AI Triple-Lock Protection, featuring three key safety components powered by Norton’s Genie AI technology. The service includes Safe Email, offering proactive scam protection for email accounts, Safe SMS for detecting sophisticated scams in text messages in real-time, and Safe Web to safeguard customers from malicious websites during online activities.

Moreover, the upgraded Scam Guard introduces Scam Assistant, enabling customers to upload screenshots of potential scams for instant feedback. It also includes Social Media Monitoring and Dark Web Monitoring to detect suspicious activities across a customer’s online presence and provide prompt notifications for necessary actions.

Malcolm Cubitt, Director of Product, Mobile at EE, emphasized the importance of adapting to evolving fraud threats by enhancing cybersecurity measures for customers. He highlighted EE’s commitment to employing innovative technologies and dedicated security experts to protect users from cyber threats effectively. The company aims to provide customers with advanced cyber security protection through the enhanced Scam Guard service.

By enhancing its Scam Guard service, EE demonstrates its dedication to combatting scams and ensuring the security of its customers in the face of growing cyber threats.
