“Twisted Serial Killer Finds Peace in Blood, Confesses to 11 Murders”

Published:

A twisted serial killer who feigned disability to gain the trust of elderly victims confessed to an interviewer that the sight of blood brought him peace. Juan Carlos Villa Cardona, speaking from a Colombian prison, showed no remorse for his 11 murders, stating, “I feel no remorse for human beings.”

In a podcast interview, Villa described his brutal killings, likening humans to chickens and revealing that seeing blood calmed him, likening it to quenching thirst. Over the span of March 2012 to September 2023, Villa’s terror spree claimed the lives of 10 elderly individuals and one minor.

Villa’s modus operandi was deceptively simple yet effective. Posing as a deaf-mute seeking aid for his sick mother, he would enter isolated homes like in La Paloma, Santa Rosa de Cabal. Despite his unassuming appearance – short and slim – once inside, his demeanor shifted drastically.

One tragic instance involved three victims, Mélida González, Bernardo Giraldo, and Ana Isabel Giraldo, found with fatal stab wounds. Deputy Superintendent Jairo Martínez reported multiple stab wounds to the neck, arms, and legs.

In chilling interviews from prison, Villa displayed a calm detachment towards his heinous acts, asserting, “I feel no remorse for human beings; to me, humans are like chickens.”

An unsettling aspect of Villa Cardona’s crimes was his attempt to justify them through a distorted religious belief. Claiming to pray before and after each murder, he believed his victims deserved death for past sins or needed rest.

Psychologist Jessica Riaño theorized that Villa’s warped fixation stemmed from a traumatic childhood. Abandoned by his parents at seven, he harbored a deep resentment towards the elderly, feeling discarded by his family.

Villa’s animosity towards his family intensified after his capture. Serving a lengthy prison term, he was ultimately betrayed by his brothers, who turned him in for a reward. Vowing revenge, Villa swore to harm his siblings if given the chance, resenting their betrayal deeply.
