“Tragic Car Crash Implicates Anthony Joshua: Charges Pending”

Published:

The individual implicated in the tragic car accident that left Anthony Joshua injured may face charges for dangerous driving, as per reports from Nigeria. Sources reveal that investigations by the Federal Road Safety Corps indicated that the former heavyweight boxing champion’s car was speeding and involved in improper overtaking, both serious violations that could lead to criminal prosecution in case of fatalities.

Authorities are currently preparing the necessary paperwork for the Nigeria Police Motor Traffic Division, collaborating with prosecutors to determine the appropriate legal actions. The possibility of pressing charges for reckless driving causing death is being considered.

It has been confirmed by sources that Joshua suffered a leg fracture in the collision.

Despite the absence of an official statement from authorities, the incident has sparked discussions on road safety and accountability in Nigeria following the crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s close associates.

In another development, the driver of the truck that collided with Joshua’s vehicle has reportedly vanished. The Nigerian Police are actively searching for the driver of the soybean truck, which was allegedly parked illegally on the roadside. The truck, with damage on the driver’s side, was cordoned off by police tape on Wednesday.

A Nigerian law enforcement officer informed the press that the truck driver had parked unlawfully and was not present at the scene when the accident occurred.

In a positive update, Joshua’s family has mentioned that the athlete is responding well to treatment following the tragic incident on Sunday. Joshua, 36, is currently receiving care at the Duchess International Hospital in Lagos, where his condition is described as stable until the New Year. While his mother remains by his side, other family members have not been permitted to visit him in the private facility.

Joshua expressed feeling pain throughout his body post-crash, which claimed the lives of his close friends Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, both aged 36.

David Joshua, the older brother of Joshua’s father Robert, stated that though they have not been allowed to see him in person, authorities have indicated that he is recuperating well.

It is believed that Sina and Latif, who were seated on the same side of the vehicle, died immediately upon impact. Joshua was reportedly seated behind the driver along with another passenger at the time of the collision.
