Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max has just launched as a new streaming service available for free to some subscribers. This service, which includes popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, and Succession, is now accessible to those with a Sky Ultimate TV package without the usual monthly fee of £4.99, saving customers over £50.
Sky has confirmed that customers with Sky Ultimate TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream, as well as Sky Q customers with the appropriate package, will automatically receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This new addition boasts a wide range of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films, along with fresh Max Originals such as The Pitt.
To start enjoying HBO Max, eligible customers can simply launch the HBO Max app from their device’s homepage and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the service. Once set up, users can stream their favorite shows and movies on demand.
For those not currently on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, switching to this package is possible starting at £22 per month, which will increase to £24 from April 1st. This comprehensive plan includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, offering an unparalleled entertainment experience. NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max at no additional cost, seamlessly integrated into the NOW app.
Individuals who are not Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on the website, with Standard with Ads plans beginning at £5.99. This move signifies a significant step for Sky and NOW, providing a comprehensive entertainment lineup to viewers through a unified subscription service.
