Freeview Users Urged to Retune Following Update

Published:

Freeview users are advised to promptly check their settings and retune their devices following the recent update announcement by the popular UK TV platform. Freeview has confirmed that adjustments to the channel lineup and TV guide are being implemented by some broadcasters this week, necessitating a retune for users to ensure access to the latest channels and program information.

Several changes have been introduced as part of this update. Notably, three channels have been rebranded with new names. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, offering music from previous decades and featuring iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.

Furthermore, a new channel called That’s Entertainment will launch on Channel 75. While specific program details are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon. Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of the continuous adjustments made by broadcasters to keep content fresh and diverse.

Users are encouraged to check their TV planners for these changes; if not visible, a retune may be necessary. To retune your device, follow these steps:

1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar menu option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Your device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.

While Freeview regularly updates its services, this recent update is significant, prompting users to retune their devices promptly to stay updated with the latest changes.
