“Amazon Launches Ultra-Fast Grocery Delivery in London”

Published:

Amazon has launched rapid grocery deliveries in less than 30 minutes. Customers can choose from a wide range of products, including groceries and household essentials like milk, eggs, nappies, and medicines.

The new Amazon Now service is currently being tested in select postcodes in London’s Southwark area, with plans for expansion in the near future. Delivery riders, recruited through Amazon Flex, will fulfill orders using bicycles.

Amazon UK country manager John Boumphrey emphasized the convenience and speed of Amazon Now, highlighting the company’s dedication to faster delivery services. This move puts Amazon in direct competition with supermarkets that already offer similar rapid delivery options.

Last September, Amazon announced the closure of its Amazon Fresh grocery stores, shifting its focus to online delivery services. The company’s recent partnership with Gopuff paved the way for ultra-fast deliveries, with Prime members enjoying discounted delivery fees starting at £1.99 per order.

As Amazon continues to enhance the shopping experience for customers in the UK, more updates on the Amazon Now service are expected in the coming months. The company reaffirmed its commitment to online grocery and household essentials, a rapidly growing segment of its UK operations.
