Justin Rose expressed his ongoing ambition to achieve a career Grand Slam following his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he surpassed Tiger Woods’ scoring record. The 45-year-old golfer, currently ranked world No.3, dismissed any immediate plans to take on the role of European captain if Luke Donald opts out in 2027.
Reflecting on his recent success, Rose stated, “I still believe there’s good stuff in front of me.” He dominated the Farmers Insurance Open with a remarkable wire-to-wire victory, finishing at 23-under 265, surpassing past performances by Tiger Woods and George Burns.
Acknowledging his improved form and mental strength, Rose highlighted the importance of consistency in accessing his full potential. With 13 tour titles under his belt, including wins at prominent courses like Muirfield Village and Pebble Beach, Rose remains determined to achieve more in his career, particularly targeting success in major championships.
While emphasizing his focus on major tournaments, Rose acknowledged his near misses at the Open and the Masters, expressing his dream of completing a career Grand Slam. Despite the challenges ahead, Rose remains optimistic, drawing confidence from his recent performances.
In contrast, Brooks Koepka had a less impressive finish at the event, tying for 56th place upon returning to the PGA Tour. Meanwhile, Rose declined an early offer from the LIV Golf league, reaffirming his commitment to competing against the world’s best players on the European and PGA Tours to pursue his career goals.
