“Low Turnout for Trump’s ‘Board of Peace,’ Major Heist Suspect Self-Deports”

Published:

Some of the United States’ closest allies showed little interest in Donald Trump’s new “Board of Peace” at its unveiling this week. The launch at the World Economic Forum in Davos was attended by fewer than 20 countries, mainly Gulf states along with Argentina and Paraguay. Surprisingly, not a single Western European nation made an appearance, despite the White House expecting 35 attendees.

Undeterred by the low turnout, Trump declared everyone present as his personal friend and shared his vision of “glorious peace.” Meanwhile, US immigration officials allowed a suspect in a major jewelry heist to self-deport to South America, shocking prosecutors who were seeking to prosecute him.

The suspect, Jeson Nelon Presilla Flores, accused of being involved in a $100 million theft, was facing a potential 15-year prison sentence but managed to leave the country at no cost. In a bizarre incident in New York, a man skipped a court hearing and left his court-ordered ankle monitor on a stray dog, evading authorities momentarily.

Additionally, clothing retailer Lululemon removed a line of leggings from its US website after customers complained about them being see-through instead of providing the expected support. In another unusual event, a Waymo self-driving car in Phoenix mistakenly ventured onto light rail tracks, prompting its passenger to exit prematurely before an oncoming train approached.

Video footage captured the car hesitating on the tracks before continuing its journey, highlighting the confidence and lack of panic displayed by autonomous vehicles in potentially dangerous situations.
