A tragic incident occurred on Christmas Eve as a young woman lost her life in a severe collision on the M2 motorway in Kent. The accident took place between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Junction 4 for Rainham, prompting a swift response from Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and National Highways Traffic Officers.
The crash involved a black Volkswagen T-Roc that struck the central reservation and overturned. Tragically, the woman, aged in her 20s and hailing from Faversham, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, no other individuals were in the vehicle or part of the accident.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses, particularly motorists with dashcam footage, to come forward and assist in the investigation. The collision occurred around 12.50pm near the Medway services (Junction 4) on the London-bound carriageway. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is handling the case, leading to the closure of the carriageway between Junctions 5 and 4 for initial inquiries.
