Desperate families are in anguish as they seek information on their loved ones following the tragic fire incident during New Year celebrations in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Among the casualties were teenagers, including promising young golfer Emanuele Galeppini, who perished in the blaze that claimed at least 40 lives just 90 minutes into the new year. Laetitia Broadard-Sitre, a distraught mother, is anxiously awaiting news about her 16-year-old son, Arthur, who went missing after sending her a New Year’s greeting message.

The search for missing individuals continues, with families like the Gonset sisters, Diana and Alicia, sharing photos and details online in the hope of finding their loved ones alive. Concerned relatives are reaching out for information about their missing family members, including Caroline, Mariam Essouri, Emilie Pralong, and others who were at the bar during the tragic event.

Authorities in Switzerland are working diligently to identify the victims of the disaster, with around 119 individuals, including 80 in critical condition, receiving medical treatment in hospitals. The injured hail from various nationalities, including Swiss, French, Italian, Serb, Bosnian, Luxembourger, Belgian, Polish, and Portuguese citizens, while the nationality of others remains unknown.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, with initial reports suggesting it was triggered by sparklers used during the celebration, leading to a rapid spread of flames. The bar’s owners, Jacques and Jessica Moretti, are cooperating with authorities as part of the investigation process. Questions have arisen regarding safety measures at the bar, including the alleged lack of visible exits, capacity breaches, and smoking indoors.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, memorial services are being planned in Crans-Montana to honor the victims, with a book of condolences set to be available online for those wishing to express their support. Amid the devastation, stories of heroism have emerged, such as that of Ferdinand Du Beaudiez, a student who bravely risked his life to rescue others from the burning bar. The community is coming together to mourn and support one another during this difficult time.
