Oregon Shaken by Magnitude 6 Earthquake

The state of Oregon in the United States recently experienced a magnitude 6 earthquake, according to official reports. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed the earthquake occurred at 7:25 pm local time on Thursday, January 15, approximately 183 miles from Bandon, Oregon. While residents along the Oregon coastline reported feeling tremors, there have been no reports of significant structural damage.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 295 km west of Bandon, Oregon, with a depth of around 10 km beneath the earth’s surface, as indicated by the USGS. At present, the USGS has not issued a tsunami warning but has highlighted the potential for aftershocks in the coming week.

Following the earthquake confirmation, Oregon residents have been sharing their experiences on social media platforms. Some individuals, like a user based at the boundary of the Cascades and Mount Rainier National Park, did not feel any tremors. However, others from Newberg and Eugene in Oregon reported feeling the earthquake.
