The Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria reported that the incident involved a black Lexus Jeep and a stationary red commercial Sinotruck, with preliminary findings suggesting that the speed of the Lexus Jeep may have contributed to the crash.
In response, the injured victim was taken for medical treatment, while the deceased were transported to Livewell Morgue, Ajaka, Sagamu. The Nigeria Police Motor Traffic Division was notified for further investigation and documentation. Initial reports indicated that the Lexus Jeep lost control during an overtaking maneuver due to suspected speeding, resulting in the collision with the stationary truck.
