“Anthony Joshua Hospitalized After Fatal Car Crash in Nigeria”

Published:

Anthony Joshua was taken to the hospital following a tragic accident that resulted in the death of two of his close associates. The incident occurred when the SUV he was traveling in collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Nigeria.

The two friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, both aged 36, were passengers in the vehicle and unfortunately lost their lives instantly. Joshua is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Lagos and is reported to be in stable condition, with his family by his side until the New Year.

Reports suggest that the SUV may have been speeding over the designated limit when the crash occurred on the dangerous expressway. While the driver survived the collision, Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, Sina Ghami, and personal trainer, Latif “Latz” Ayodele, tragically did not.

The trio was en route to visit Joshua’s family for the festive period in the Nigerian city of Sagamu when the accident happened. Ghami, a longstanding member of Joshua’s team, was well-known for running Evolve Gyms in London, while a fundraiser has been set up in memory of Ayodele.

Joshua, who had been on holiday in Nigeria after a recent fight, was on his way to see family members at the time of the crash. The incident has raised concerns about his future in boxing, with speculations about the potential impact on his career and whether he will return to the ring.

The boxing world is waiting for updates on Joshua’s recovery and any decisions regarding his future fights, especially the highly anticipated match against Tyson Fury. The emotional toll of losing his friends in the accident may have a significant influence on Joshua’s future in the sport.
