A 49-year-old father, Beck Weather, defied death during a severe storm on Mount Everest. Beck, hailing from Texas, survived a perilous situation in 1996 when his climbing expedition faced dangerous conditions on the treacherous slopes. Despite facing significant physical challenges due to a failed eye surgery that left him nearly blind, Beck persevered on the climb led by Rob Hall, alongside other climbers like Doug Hansen, Andy Harris, Mike Groom, and journalist Jon Krakauer.
Struggling with deteriorating health and vision issues, Beck made the difficult decision to wait for his team to return from the summit. However, he ended up stranded for almost ten hours, leading to severe frostbite and physical deterioration. Miraculously, he was found by Mike Groom and a group led by Scott Fischer, who initially believed Beck to be deceased.
