Nathan Fielder, the well-known Vancouver comedian, writer, and director, has unveiled a teaser for his upcoming project following the latest season of “The Rehearsal.” His new documentary, “You Can See Everything,” co-created with filmmaker Lance Oppenheim, focuses on the period leading up to the 2023 imprisonment of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, who was convicted of fraud in 2022 for false claims about revolutionary blood testing technology. Oppenheim’s previous works include “Spermworld” (2024) and “Some Kind of Heaven” (2020).
Fielder gained fame through his show “Nathan For You,” where he humorously provides misguided business advice. The documentary, distributed by A24, showcases a visually striking trailer with a distinctive color scheme. Notably, the trailer features a tense one-minute exchange between Fielder and Holmes, where she passionately denies any deceit, prompting Fielder’s skeptical response.
The teaser was revealed at a surprise screening during the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, generating enthusiastic reactions from early viewers. Director Daniel Howat described the documentary as “hysterical, shocking, and insane,” while music producer Erik Nordgren hailed it as the standout film of the year. The film is reminiscent of Fielder’s previous uncomfortable interviews, such as the one with former CBC president Hubert T. Lacroix.
“You Can See Everything” is scheduled for a theatrical release next month, promising an intriguing exploration of the events leading to Holmes’s legal troubles.
