An individual working as an exotic dancer has been taken into custody on suspicion of beheading her partner, whom she had been in a relationship with for only two months.
The victim, Enrique Gonzalez-Carbajal, aged 55, was discovered decapitated at the residence of his girlfriend, Alyssa Marie Lira, in Anaheim, California, on August 25. Following the incident, authorities quickly identified Lira, aged 23, as the prime suspect. She managed to evade capture by fleeing to Mexico.
Law enforcement revealed that Lira, who was employed as a stripper at the time of the incident, has been extradited from Mexico to face a murder charge with an added felony for weapon use.
Reports from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office disclosed that the couple first met while Lira was performing as an exotic dancer at a local strip club in California. Their relationship began, but tragically, Gonzalez-Carbajal was found deceased just two months later.
After an extensive search involving the FBI and Mexican authorities, Lira was apprehended on January 22 and subsequently handed over to Orange County authorities at the San Ysidro Port of Entry the following day.
Authorities have not disclosed the specific location in Mexico where the 23-year-old suspect was found. The motive behind the violent act remains undisclosed by prosecutors. If found guilty, Lira could potentially face a maximum of 26 years in prison.
A court appearance for the suspect has been scheduled for February 13. Lira is currently detained at Orange County Jail without bail and is set to be arraigned at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
District Attorney Todd Spitzer emphasized the relentless pursuit of justice in a statement, highlighting the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies to ensure accountability for criminal actions regardless of geographical challenges.
In a separate incident, a father was arrested for allegedly murdering his four children and concealing their bodies in the trunk of a vehicle while engaging in social interactions with individuals.
Wellington Delano Dickens III, aged 38, faces four counts of first-degree murder following his arrest on October 28. Dickens reportedly contacted authorities and admitted to discipline but denied subjecting his children to torture.
Upon responding to the call, law enforcement discovered the deceased bodies of four young children in Dickens’ vehicle in North Carolina. Additionally, authorities accused the father of entertaining guests he met through the Grindr dating app after the purported crime.
