Lemon entered Cities Church in St. Paul on January 19 during immigration raids in nearby Minneapolis, where one of the church pastors was allegedly an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official.
Lemon’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, condemned the Trump Justice Department for focusing on Lemon’s arrest rather than investigating federal agents involved in the deaths of two peaceful Minnesota protesters. Lowell emphasized that Lemon will vigorously defend against the charges in court.
