The King was accompanied by a recent addition to the royal family during a festive outing with other members of the Firm. Charles, aged 77, led the way as he and his royal relatives gathered for a Sunday morning church service in Sandringham today. The family is currently spending the festive season in Norfolk.
During the church service, the King was seen walking alongside his youngest brother, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who was elegantly dressed in a beige coat, a dark brown hat, and boots. Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, as well as the King’s cousin, Earl Snowdon, were also part of the royal party. Earl Snowdon was accompanied by his two children, Lady Margarita and Charles Armstrong-Jones. Making a surprise appearance at the service were Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, and his fiancée Harriet Sperling, who looked festive in a checked outfit.
Earlier, Peter had chosen not to join his royal relatives, including his sister Zara Tindall, for Christmas. It was reported that Peter decided to spend the holiday with Harriet Sperling and her family. Harriet, a nurse with the NHS, had worked last Christmas but this year, the couple opted for a quiet Christmas together away from the public eye. Peter had announced his engagement to Harriet earlier in the year after a year of dating, and she is set to become the newest member of the Royal Family upon their marriage.
The King, along with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, continues his Christmas stay at Sandringham with various other members of the Royal Family. They attended a Sunday morning church service at St Mary Magdalene Church, walking from Sandringham House. Well-wishers had the opportunity to exchange words with the King, and royal fans captured moments with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, were also part of the royal gathering, while Earl of Snowdon, David Armstrong-Jones, was seen with his children, Lady Margarita and Viscount Linley.
