Declan Queally and Nico de Boinville have resolved their disagreement following an incident at the Cheltenham Festival. Queally, an Irish amateur rider, and De Boinville, a stable jockey, engaged in a heated exchange during the Turners Novices’ Hurdle race. The altercation occurred due to the chaotic start of the race, which resulted in two false starts before the horses finally set off. De Boinville finished second on Act Of Innocence, while Queally finished fifth on I’ll Sort That.
Queally initially accused De Boinville of making a racially abusive comment towards him, which led to a post-race confrontation. However, both parties have now resolved the issue. In an interview with ITV after another race, Queally and De Boinville shook hands and confirmed that the matter had been sorted out.
Former Champion Jockey AP McCoy commended their resolution, stating that it was the right thing to do. The two riders exchanged pleasantries and prepared for the next race, demonstrating a mutual understanding and respect for each other.
