Punters at Wetherspoons’ new pub in Spain may find themselves shelling out more than they would back home. While the menu items and beverages still offer reasonable value, they generally come at a higher price compared to the chain’s usual high street locations.
According to company executives, the increased costs are due to the operation expenses in airport settings. They highlight that the prices at the Spanish pub align with those at their existing outlets in UK airports and railway stations.
For instance, a substantial breakfast in Spain costs 10.25 euros (£8.84), whereas the average price in the UK is only £5.09. To gauge the differences, the Mirror conducted a price comparison between the Alicante pub and Wetherspoons’ Solihull pub in the West Midlands, as well as at Gatwick Airport.
It should be noted that variations exist in the products regarding size and ingredients. Some examples include Margherita pizza, all-day brunch, classic burger, chicken with eggs and beans, a pint of Stella Artois, Asahi beer, Greene King Abbot Ale, Guinness 0.0, and Coca Cola/Pepsi (398ml).
